"Best Bet! An outstanding cast, with plenty of emotional power.
Deborah Gilmour Smyth is magnificent as the dominant and domineering Amanda, a study in multi-layered contrasts. Sarah Zimmerman's Laura is as delicate and fragile as her beloved glass collection. Jason Heil is pitch-perfect as the affable Jim. Sean Cox is excellent as Tom, who frames the play as misty memory. Mike Buckley's lacy, ethereal set, Nathan Peirson's golden lighting, and Jeanne Reith's charming 1930s costumes flawlessly set the stage, and the musical underscoring, marvelously played by Rik Ogden, heightens the tone of lyrical reminiscence." |
