LAMB’s Producing Artistic Director joined Lamb’s Players as an actor and director in 1976. He had a vision to start a resident repertory company and in ‘78 Lamb’s Players Theatre opened in National City. In 1994 LAMB’S brought the old performance space in Coronado’s historic Spreckels Building back to life as its resident theatre. Robert has directed more than 160 productions for the company, including Godspell, The Explorers Club, Les Miserables, Room Service, Hamlet, The Light in the Piazza, Till We Have Faces and Joyful Noise, here and Off-Broadway. He and his wife - director, actor, composer, Deborah Gilmour Smyth - make their home in Coronado.
